Weekend, +1

Relatively comfortable weekend (barring the sore throat). I feel like I tolerated more food than I have in the past couple weeks, but I'm not sure any more what is enough. My proportions on portions are skewed. Did have solid food at least twice a day though, so that's definitely good. Still had to buy smaller jeans and size S tops. My rings will NOT stay on my fingers.
Because of this weekend though, I felt like I could eat more today and I fear that may not be the case. It's 4:30 and I feel intensely bloated, very tired. No backing up yet. Will wait a few hours, since it generally takes at least a couple to figure out the real damage done.

  1. Hi--I passed a "happiness award" to you last week, spaced out and forgot to tell you. I was so happy to find a Gastroparesis blog and how you write the reality of the condition. Just looking at the "tummy" picture on your blog makes me smile. To learn about the award, its under my blog post titled "happy list",

Wow, weight is falling off of you. That gets scary. Glad you are getting some solid food in, but hope you can get more and get your weight more stabilized.

I tried to sign up and be a follower, but am having a heck of a time getting a picture loaded (I'm so not technical). I'll keep trying. Kerry

  2. Just seeing your blog for the first time... LOVE the name. I have gastroparesis too. I'm at shoot-me-now.com and write off and on about my experiences. I am opposite of you - I gained weight when i developed GP. The only thing that enabled me to eat was domperidone... but I am OFF it now... I drink aloe every morning that I get from Walmart, take Align daily and drink Vemma every day. (WAY expensive but gives me vitamins and more aloe) Now I don't need domperidone woop woop! It took about 2 months for all that to work together. (I'm idiopathic) (Of course i have horrible days.. sick, bloated... you just never know how your day will be)

So glad I found your blog!!! Hang in there and stay strong!!! Katherine

  4. Kerry, hello! I'm still fairly new to all this. For years I just thought it was what I was eating, an allergy? I had no idea. It just started getting bad this past year. Currently I'm doing ok though and back on solids. I just don't understand why it fluctuates so much.

Oh, and to follow a blog, I think you just have to have a Google account. If that little "Follow" button is there and that's not working, I'm not sure what the problem is. :|

Katherine, it was really nice to stumble on your writing. Man, I just had no idea there were so many of us out there and how misunderstood and confusing this affliction is. I'm supposed to start the study for Cisapride on April 20, but I'm a little worried. I don't do well with drugs (Reglan was baaad). Was Domperidone not worth it for you? I've seen a lot of people recommend it. And YES, you really never know how your day is going to be. *sigh*
